RFD Announces Return of Direct Fights to Nashville and Los Angeles
ROCKFORD, Ill. (Nov. 20, 2024) – The Greater Rockford Airport Authority (GRAA) is thrilled to announce that Allegiant Airlines will once again offer direct flights from Chicago Rockford International Airport (RFD) to Los Angeles, California (LAX) and Nashville, Tennessee (BNA).
Tickets are on sale now for these seasonal flights at Allegiant.com to both destinations which will resume May 2025, with service to Los Angeles on Wednesdays and Saturdays beginning May 21, and service to Nashville on Thursdays and Sundays beginning May 22.
“We’ve seen strong demand for these seasonal routes and with the continued support of our community, we’re excited to bring them back for the upcoming season,” said Zack Oakley, Executive Director at RFD. “Our partnership with Allegiant Airlines has allowed us to expand flight options for travelers, and we’re excited to continue offering these popular destinations.”
Earlier this year, RFD and Allegiant Airlines kicked off seasonal flights to Nashville and LA, with the season ending in October.
In addition to the Los Angeles and Nashville routes, RFD continues to offer convenient flights to several popular vacation destinations, including Florida cities like Punta Gorda (PGD), Sarasota (SRQ), Orlando (SFB), and Tampa (PIE), as well as Phoenix (IWA) and Las Vegas (LAS). Starting in January 2025, passengers will also be able to take advantage of new international flights to Costa Rica (LIR), Punta Cana (PUJ), and Cancun/Riviera Maya (CUN).
Expanding flight offerings is a key strategic goal for RFD. While attracting new routes and airline partners involves careful consideration of market demand and economic feasibility, the airport’s continued success in meeting passenger needs helps secure future growth opportunities.
